We stopped by for lunch because the Eagles won the Super Bowl and my wife in the past had been to Pat's and Gino's in Philly.I had only been to Philly connection in Ga by comparison. The mushroom cheesesteak I got was fresh off the grill and delicious! The service was quick and the young workers friendly.They serve beer and dessert too. Ambiance was casual with a nice deck. They blare an old Atlanta radio station 99x which was cool. We loved the cheesesteaks !
Have to say this was another great experience. Sad part is we always get the same exact thing. Over the past couple of years we have visited Woody's at least once a month and sometimes twice. All occasions have been top notch...maybe because they have gotten to know us. Only one order was not processed correctly and it was an honest mistake. Our order consists of one Philly Cheesesteak with Provolone, Onions and mustard with two sodas with lots of ice. The one mistake was misheard by someone new and he heard mushrooms versus mustard. They offered to redo the order and we said No, we will just removed them. The next visit they joked with us about the mushrooms. This week our order was perfectly cooked and a bit different. The bun had been almost toasted on the griddle. It was great. But am sure that can't always do that because of the volume customers. Service is friendly, atmosphere is Woody's... just kind of homey in its own sense. Price is extremely reasonable and the prices haven't changed in at least 2 years. A Philly Cheesesteak is still $9.50 and sodas $2. Our meal is always a few cents under $15(except for the mushroom one!!!). Always tip $5 and the lunch for 2 is under $20. Not many places left like this.
Decent spot for a cheesesteak. Im from philly, and am looking for a close spot in the area. Flavorful meat, good roll, nice chop. A little dry, but I'll be back!
This place had amazingly good cheesesteaks. Yum! Definitely recommend. Service was ehhhhh and ambiance was whatever (kind of a smaller hole in the wall setting with some seating), and not too welcoming, but the food makes it worth the stop.
